Professional Staff

All our staff participate in weekly off-hours sales and service training to ensure that their skills are maintained at the highest level. In addition to these regular training sessions, they often avail themselves of outside seminars, workshops, technical training and familiarization programs in their fields of expertise. Below are brief profiles of the people who give our agency an enviable breadth and depth of travel expertise.

Carol-Ann Decker, President
At the ripe old age of 21, Carol-Ann walked through the doors of Manotick Travel and never left. Everyone remembers Carol-Ann then as being a shy girl with big hair. After 17 years of being with Manotick Travel this is no longer the case - the hair has gone and so has the shyness. Carol-Ann started her job at Manotick Travel as a receptionist, someone her co-workers depend on, not only to greet clients, but also to handle sales support and customer service.
As on October 1st, Carol-Ann and Greg Decker purchased the agency from Leslie and Richard Coates. Thanks to Leslie and Rick this has been a smooth transition. Other than a new coat of paint there are not many things that have changed. We still have the same great dedicated staff.
Carol-Ann is now dedicating most of her time to Honeymoon and Destination Weddings. Carol-Ann is a Certified Sandals Specialist.
Over the years Carol-Ann has also enjoyed travelling. Some of the places she has visited are the Cayman Island, Bermuda, Australia and Europe. her favourite destination is Greece. Carol-Ann's true passion is singing. She has performed throughout the Ottawa Valley for many years has won many competitions and has appeard on television several times. She gives freely of her time and not only sings in her church choir but at all Manotick Travel's functions as well as weddings and funerals.
Her other interests include snowmobiling, rollerblading and anything to do with exercise. Carol-Ann is someone who has always been on the go and that didn't stop when she married her sweeheart, Greg. 6 years ago it was time to slow down a little and welcome their daughter Reagan into the world. Reagan is Little Miss Personality. She love sto sing, dance and have fun (just like her mother). Carol-Ann has not only lived all her life in Manotick, 4 generations of her family have lived in Manotick, with Reagan being the 5th, dating back to the mid eighteen hundreds.

Leslie Coates, MCC, Vice President
Luxury Cruise Specialist
2007 United Way Community Builder Award Winner
Leslie has been in the travel business for over 30 years and is an international travel & cruise specialist. She is a "cruiseaholic" having sailed on or inspected over 100 ships including those of the luxury 6* cruise lines such as Silversea, Regent, Seabourn and Crystal. Leslie started Manotick Travel in 1979 with her husband, Rick, and is proud of the agency's accomplishments, whose awards include 2004 Ottawa Chamber of Commerce Gold Business Achievement Award for "Professional Services of the Year" and 2000 Ottawa Board of Trade Bronze Business Achievement Award for "Small Business of the Year". Leslie is a Certified Travel Counsellor & a Master Cruise Counsellor. Leslie & Rick have 2 children:

Mona Schuller, MCC, CSS, General Manager
Mona has been in the travel industry for 30 years, 20 years with Manotick Travel & Cruise Centre and the last 15 years as General Manager. She is also their top travel consultant. Mona has acquired the designation of Master Cruise Counsellor (MCC), a Certified Sandals Specialist (CSS), and a Princess Cruises Expert.
Mona's vast expertise has covered all aspects of the industry including managing corporate travel, conference planning, leisure travel and her specialty: incentive and group travel. Years in the travel business have sent Mona all over the globe to 6 continents and she confesses that she is a cruise-aholic.
A long time resident of Manotick, Mona is married, has two adult children and is also a proud grandmother. She is a certified scuba diver and an avid sports and fitness enthusiast, including "Adventure Boot Camp, skiing, golf and paddling. She is currently paddling in the Ottawa Dragon Boat race held each year in June, as well as any other races throughout the summer. You can see her out practicing on Mooney's Bay most weekdays at 6:00 a.m. When she's not in a dragon boat, you may find her kayaking on the Rideau or cruising the local waterways on her 28' Bayliner.
Mona is an active member of the Women's Business Network and has won "The Olga Howe Networker of the Year Award" in 2003. Presently she is Chair of the Businesswoman of the Year Awards Gala presented each year to three of Ottawa's top Buisineswomen. This is one of the premier events in the City and attracts over 500 people at the Gala. She is also active in the community and serves on the executive of her local Homeowners' Association.

Heather Hutt, Executive Travel Specialist
Bringing the "Joy of Travel" has been Heather's dedication to her valued clients for the last 23 years.
Having been at Manotick Travel & Cruise Centre for 10 years Heather feels at home with this professional agency and thoroughly enjoys providing the highest level of customer service by striving
to go, "Above and Beyond" for all clients.
Heather's passion is planning customized trips. Having been to five continents now, her specialty is arranging anything from an all inclusive getaway to a sun destination, an exotic cruise or perhaps a
day to day itinerary to South America.
Heather's corporate travel back ground provides her with strong
organizational and attention to detail skills needed in this ever changing industry. Heather was certified by the Canadian Institutes of Travel Counsellors, is a certified Sandals Specialist and continues to upgrade her travel knowledge by attending seminars,cruise conferences and travelling abroad. She has just returned from Chili and Argentina and was very impressed with the beauty, culture and warmth of the people. Heather and husband George hail from the Winchester area. Their days of driving the kids everywhere for ball and
hockey games are coming to an end as they can drive themselves now. Heather enjoys singing with her church choir weekly
and is always helping the elderly in the community. She loves gardening, cooking and keeping fit by power walking and doing water aerobics.
